The Michael Ross Ladies Mountain High Fair Isle Slip in White is a classic Fair Isle top crafted on hand frames. Many different things inspire the creation of Michael Ross’ unique Fair Isle designs, nature, artists, history, films and even songs. And Mountain High is no exception.

 

Mountain High was inspired by the Tina Turner hit of the same name, released in 1988. The theme of love, ever growing and strengthening from river deep to mountain high, is interlaced with analogies and references to the love of a favourite doll, the faithfulness and sweetness of a puppy, how Robins love to sing, and flowers love the spring…It was from these ideas that Michael Ross’s Mountain High Fair Isle design was conceived, the colours and patterning alluding to the evocative lyrics and passion of the song.

 

Crafted on hand knitting machines with traditionally linked trims in the the Michael Ross workshops in Thatcham, England.  Michael Ross knitwear are commitment to top quality design, construction and materials and uses 100% Scottish Wool. Each jumper is made to order and due to their nature takes 8 weeks to make but they are certainly worth the wait.
