The Michael Ross Ladies Victotiana Fair Isle slip is a classic Fair Isle top crafted on hand frames. Fair Isle patterns have their roots in the Fair Isles, a small set of Islands between the Orkneys and Shetlands. It is thought that the designs are a hybrid of Scandinavian design and those from the Spanish Armada who were stranded there in 1588. They have become a classic British style and were made popular when the Prince of Wales sported his Fair Isle sweater while playing golf at St Andrews in 1922.
Crafted on hand knitting machines with traditionally linked trims in the the Michael Ross workshops in Thatcham, England. Michael Ross knitwear are commitment to top quality design, construction and materials and uses 100% Donegal Yarn. Each jumper is made to order and due to their nature takes 8 weeks to make but they are certainly worth the wait.
